TelehealthProviders Canada is an independent directory of Canadian online clinics. We catalogue which telehealth providers are licensed to treat Canadians, which provinces each one actually serves, what they charge in Canadian dollars, and how they compare against each other. We are not a pharmacy and not a medical provider — we do not prescribe, dispense, or take any part in your care.

Start with the clinician. Every prescriber must be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons — or the College of Nurses — in the province where you live, and every College publishes a free, searchable register you can check a name against in under a minute. Then check the platform: it should name its clinical team, require a genuine medical questionnaire before any prescription, dispense through a pharmacy licensed by a provincial pharmacy regulator, and publish its cancellation terms before you pay rather than after.

It varies, and the gap that catches most people out is Quebec — telehealth there is regulated through the Collège des médecins du Québec, and several national platforms are simply not set up for it. The three territories are usually excluded too. Every provider listing on this site states its provincial coverage, and each province page lists only the providers that serve that province.

Usually not. OHIP, MSP, AHCIP and the other provincial plans cover virtual visits with physicians enrolled in provincial billing, but the specialised platforms in this directory — weight management, hair loss, ED care, longevity — almost all operate direct-pay, outside provincial insurance. Ask whether a platform bills provincially before you pay out of pocket, and check your private benefits separately.

Yes, and it is the single most common reason Canadians use one. Millions of Canadians are unattached to a family physician. A virtual clinic can assess a non-emergency condition, issue a prescription and provide follow-up with no referral and no waitlist. It is not a substitute for a family doctor for complex or ongoing care, and anything needing a physical exam, imaging or bloodwork still has to happen in person.

Delivery adds one to five business days depending on where in Canada you are. Controlled substances are the exception — ADHD stimulants in particular take far longer, and some provinces require an in-person visit first.
